The Apostle Islands of northwest Wisconsin have been a destination for vacation home buyers for over a century. The first summer residents on Madeline Island and in Bayfield, Wisconsin were mostly from Minnesota, Nebraska, Illinois and of course, elsewhere in Wisconsin. Today, our summer resident community brings vacation property owners from all over the United States. If you have considered something unique and out-of-the-ordinary as a vacation community, check out what we have to offer. We are around 250 miles from Minneapolis and St. Paul (MN) and 75 miles from Duluth, Minnesota. Madeline Island (0 comments)
Call them what you will. You may consider them colleagues or competitors, but we agree to cooperate with them and to help each other to make the transaction experience better for our clients in the end. But some of the fellow agents we encounter almost seem to be practicing real estate with blinders on. In the past week, I've encountered two such difficult agents. One of these agents made an error in a purchase agreement, forgetting to put a survey contingency into an offer and then insisting that our seller client pay for a (7 comments)
ashland county wisconsin: Call it a Cabin if you prefer. But is it Really a Cabin?

Call it a Cabin if you prefer. But is it Really a "Cabin"? Somewhere around here, in one of a couple of glass-front lawyer's bookcases, is a copy of Harriet Beecher Stowe's Uncle Tom's Cabin. The book was published 170 years ago and inside the cover is a pen-and-ink etching of a small, rustic cabin. The cabin depicted in this illustration is very small, very cozy and basic, with a small stone chimney and a wisp of smoke rising from the place, signaling that someone is home. We love the concept of cabins. It conjures up images of "Lincoln Logs" that kids used to (5 comments)
Another Washburn Wisconsin sale listed by Eric Kodner with Madeline Island Realty, this three bedroom and two bath home on thirty wooded acres was one of our "best buys" during autumn of this year. The secluded property west of Washburn, Wisconsin is crossed by a stream, with rolling topography and idyllic rural views. Some of our customers and clients occasionally forget that Madeline Island Realty lists and sells homes in the mainland towns of Washburn and Bayfield, in addition to Madeline Island. Washburn home sales of this quality are not an everyday event and we're particularly proud of (4 comments)
I was pleased to notice that an article on the Door County Daily News website about Washington Island (located just north of the Door Peninsula in northeastern Wisconsin) mentioned Madeline Island. The mention appeared in a link to Barry Adams' April 12, 2015 article in the Wisconsin State Journal, entitled "On Wisconsin: Getting to know the Badger State a Little Better".
Adams' article in the State Journal referred to Madeline Island as "the largest island of the Apostle Islands where students take an ice boat to school in Bayfield during the winter". (3 comments)
In Bob's blog post about buying land in Ashland County, Wisconsin, Bob wrote, "If you are interested in purchasing land in Ashland County, give my friend Eric Kodner a call".

Our office received a verbal offer from an area real estate agent this past week. The offer was undeniably a low-ball (not surprising, given what I know about the real estate licensee who brought it). Some would say the offer was insultingly low, while others might lecture "it's a buyer's right to try to get the best possible price they can". As the old saying goes, "fish gotta swim, birds gotta fly". And some would-be real estate buyers gotta take that long shot and propose an offer so low that 99.9 per cent of sellers (2 comments)
Wisconsin Realtors Association Reports Housing Sales Up for Eighth Consecutive Month - Ashland & Bayfield County Statistics Still Lag Behind Much of Wisconsin The Wisconsin Realtors Association (WRA) reports that February 2012 was the eighth month in a row in which sales rose. Prices are down, but sales volume is on track to continue rising this year. At the end of February, things in Ashland County were still running behind State average sales volume, with ten closed sales in the County during February. Things were a bit better in adjacent Bayfield County, with thirteen closed sales and a much higher median (0 comments)
