The inventory of Bayfield, Wisconsin area homes for sale remains high, while the average list price of homes for sale in the 54814 zip code has dropped steadily since the beginning of November, according to data obtained from Trulia.
At the beginning of November, the average list price for Bayfield homes was around $207,000. As of November 23, 2011, that average list price had dropped to $201,295.

The Wisconsin Realtors Association (WRA) reports that there were fourteen home sales in Ashland County during October of 2011. The average sale price for Ashland County was $90,500.
Neighboring Bayfield County fared slightly better, with a total of fifteen home sales in October of 2011. The average sale price in Bayfield County was $125,000.

The article includes an interactive map and a trip planner called "Pre-trip fun for kids". The trip planner for youngsters is custom-tailored by age. This past summer, a camera crew from the Live Well Network arrived on Madeline Island to shoot several segments which highlight area attractions. The segments included one on shipwreck diving off Madeline Island, a feature about the Apostle Islands sea caves and another about the Bayfield Inn.

Unfortunately, the "Market Update" available there is from 2006.
Claiming to be an "Advisor" to buyers and sellers is a lofty goal. But when you profess to offer relevant market information, shouldn't that information be gathered from within the past six months? Or at very least, shouldn't it be about the 2011 market?

Tbe 2011 real estate market on Madeline Island was pretty thin, particularly in the second half of the year. Given that fact, it's difficult to draw conclusions about what worked and what did not. But if there are any conclusions which may be drawn, the following are certainly true.
Buyers were bargain-hunting this year. Most of what sold in the second half of 2011 was priced at under $300,000. Cash was king in 2011. Financing didn't play any significant role in Madeline Island sales, especially during the past … (2 comments)

This past week, we were saddened to learn of the death of Carol Lacy. I spoke with her sons, Larrry and Joel Gershgol, this evening and Larry was kind enough to give me a copy of the program from Carol's memorial service. The service took place at Christ the King Lutheran Church in New Brighton, Minnesota on September 6th.
