wra: Red Flags Which Point to Possible Real Estate Fraud - 03/24/16 12:28 AM
I read an interesting response to the Question & Answer section on the ActiveRain.com real estate website this morning which got my attention.  The real estate agent who posed the question is a well-known real estate industry observer and the reply came from a luxury real estate specialist in Hawaii.

The Hawaii agent's response to this request for a short list of real estate fraud indicators was as follows (quoted text below is in bold italics):

Listings advertised for sale on Craigslist.Craigslist has acquired a reputation for shady real estate transactions. Some agents see it as a cheap way for them to get Web exposure, but most … (15 comments)

Real Estate Market Update - WRA Reports Declining Median Sale Prices in Northern Wisconsin

For a fourth straight month, Wisconsin’s monthly home sales volume exceeded last year's sales, yet median sold prices continued to fall, according to statistics published by the Wisconsin Realtors Association (WRA). The number of existing home sales increased 13.5 per cent in October compared to October 2010, however median sale prices fell 7.8 per cent over the same period, to $129,000.
Northern Wisconsin Sales Volume lags behind the rest of the State

MADELINE ISLAND REAL ESTATE MARKET REPORT - 2010 SUMMARY

The Wisconsin Realtors Association (WRA) just published its 2010 year end housing sales summary, concluding that Wisconsin home sales declined in 2010 while prices remained stable.
By contrast to the State median price figures and number of solds, Ashland County experienced a 5.3% drop in median sold prices and a 2.3% increase in the number of homes sold during 2010.
These statewide sales figures were skewed somewhat, especially during the first half of 2010, when buyers scrambled to qualify for the Federal homebuyer tax credit program and to get those purchases closed by … (2 comments)

On Tuesday, November 30th, the Wisconsin CRS Chapter sponsored and presented the "At Home With Diversity" course at the Wisconsin Realtors Association in Madison.

The NAR (National Association of Realtors) course was taught by instructor Eric Kodner at WRA (that's me).  We had a great class, with fifteen attendees, and class participation was excellent!  Considering road conditions and the fact that we had no choice but to reschedule this class between Thanksgiving and Christmas, I thought attendance was pretty good.

Yesterday evening, I was at the Wisconsin CRS Chapter Networking Reception at the Kalahari Resort & Convention Center in Baraboo, Wisconsin, where the Wisconsin Realtors Association Annual Convention is underway.  We had a Chapter leadership meeting and after that ended, our Board asked me to set up at a table in the suite and to help visitors sign up for Twitter accounts.

Actually this is something we've done before.  I helped about a dozen of our CRS members sign up for various social networking accounts last year.  One of those members, Barb Yaeger, stopped by to visit me last night while I was … (4 comments)

At the Wisconsin REALTORS Association (WRA) Winter Convention in Lac du Flambeau, Wisconsin, I found my buddy Steven Stearns chatting with Tamara Axtman, of American Home Shield Home Warranty.  Steve was trying to convince Tamara to join Active Rain.

Steven can be pretty persuasive at times.  I joined in the discussion and we figured out the best way to get someone to become a member is to just do it!
So we hauled out the laptops and started helping Tamara create her profile.  Just a few hours later, I believe she's now hooked on blogging!
