marketing: Getting in Front of our key target market – the Homeowner - 02/07/08 02:57 AM
Having a strong network with Real Estate Agents is a critical pipeline to staging jobs, no question.  However, we have all identified challenges in terms of building referral alliances with the REA community.  Although there is a wave of agents using staging as a standard marketing tool for their vendors, there is a larger faction who use it hit and miss, or do not use it all.
It is not the agents who have the most to lose from a mediocre approach to property marketing, it’s the homeowners. 
And therefore I believe that the homeowner is our real target market.

Recently I started doing some continuing staging education.  I tell you honestly that after four years in business, I did it primarily to get more web presence and referrals, and I didn't think the credential would hurt with agents. Quickly I am seeing there is a lot more to be learned and to be re-learned. 
One of the first (smart) things it tipped me to was to constantly watch listings for a number of variables.  Of course I did that time to time, but I had never really looked in terms of the agent's marketing strategy.  Today I noticed some stuff that … (7 comments)
