buyers: Selling your Home before Spring - 11/22/13 03:42 AM

Just looking over a few articles in “Keeping Current Matters” and I came across an article that talked about selling your home now,  as opposed to waiting till Spring. Many of us think that when selling a home, we should wait until spring, when the weather is warmer and there isn’t snow on the ground, well maybe not as much snow! But there are many advantages to having your home on the market during the fall and winter months. Here are a couple of reasons why selling your home during the colder months may be to your advantage.

buyers: How Picky Are You? - 10/08/13 06:25 AM
Is it true that the older you get, the pickier you become when buying a home?  Statistics show that this is true.  About half of people 58 years old and older made no compromises at all during their most recent home purchase.  Only 28% of young buyers made no compromise with most young buyers compromising on issues ranging from price, lot size and size to style of home.

With low home prices and ultra-low interest rates, the housing market is offering perhaps thebest deals of this generation.Since the housing boom of 2006, home prices have fallen about 31 percent. Also, mortgage rateshave been hovering at record lows for the past few weeks (4 percent range or even lower on 30-year fixed-rate mortgages). It’s hard to see the possibility of losing on a home purchase right now with these mortgage rates.Prices may go lower, but not by much. Here is a good scenario that shows that waiting to buy is probably not a good idea. Buying a$300,000 home with a 4 percent … (1 comments)

buyers: Make this home a move-in ready home! - 03/08/11 07:48 AM
I recently read an article written by one of my real estate colleagues I’ve known for a long time. He wrote about helping senior citizens get ready to sell the home that they have lived in for over 30 years or more. Many of the seniors lived during the great depression and know how to save and be conservative. They normally have the attitude of “don’t fix it unless it’s broken.” So when it comes to explaining to them that the younger generation doesn’t know what sweat equity is or they don’t know how to fix things or desire to fix … (0 comments)
