condominiums: Lighthouse Point Condominiums in Collingwood - 03/12/10 09:53 AM
If you are contemplating buying a condominium in the Collingwood - Blue Mountain area, you owe it to yourself to visit Lighthouse Point.
This very popular development sits on about 100 acres with a mile of Georgian Bay shoreline on the west edge of Collingwood.  Construction began in 1989 with the last of the roughly 500 units completed last year.  In 2002, developer, Rupert Bronsdon was named builder of the year by Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation - an award well deserved for this quality project that elevated the standard for all such projects to follow.

condominiums: Building A Swingers Community - 07/09/09 09:22 AM
Ha!  Got ya with that headline!  Read on...
Back in September 2007, I wrote about our foray into the world of real estate investment.  Hubby and I purchased a condo in Collingwood, Ontario that we rented to a fantastic family and, we are still very happy with our decision.  There's more though.  One never knows where things can lead and many things have happened since then.
First, I was elected to the board of directors of the condominium corporation last year.  It's been a tremendous learning curve but one I am so glad to have taken on.  Having book knowledge of the Condominium … (4 comments)

South Georgian Bay is home to many condominium communities and some of the more established ones are located on the western edge of Collingwood.  While there are literally thousands of new ones planned or already underway, some of the old projects are still tried and true offering buyers great value for their dollar.
One such development is Rupert's Landing which was built by Rupert Bronsdon between 1986 and 1989.  It's situated on 18 acres of waterfront with a total of 207 units:  156 town home styled units and 51 apartment units in "the tower."  The town homes are one and … (0 comments)

condominiums: Condominium Appeal Growing - 11/14/07 11:01 AM
Back in 1976, my husband and I purchased our first home which was a condominium in a high-rise building in Oakville.  Back then, condominiums were an unknown entity as they were a very new concept.  My Dad however, predicted that this was one trend he believed would really catch on and that could be a very good investment for us.
Fast forward 30 years.  In a report released by REMAX Ontario-Atlantic Canada today, it says that the condominium concept has finally clicked with Canadians and that some of the most impressive gains in residential real estate in 2007 were in the condominium market.  … (4 comments)
