"The original name of the Yellow Breeches was Callapatscink, which has been translated to mean, ―where the waters turn back again. This is descriptive of the lower stream where the general eastern flow turns back to the west at certain bends along its course." (https://www.ccpa.net/DocumentCenter/Home/View/7971)
Upon entering Callapatscink, one is greeted by the sign that states: "Here the creek embraces, the train whistle comforts & the mountain stands guard."
Be sure to look immediately to your left upon entrance and perhaps pause a moment to listen to the tranquil sounds of nature and observe the bustle of the trout within (17 comments)
