Sunset Stadium at Sumner High School will be hosting the Track Division finals this weekend 5/20 & 5/21. My son Michael, will be pole vaulting.
I am currently reading The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society. http://www.randomhouse.com/rhpg/guernsey//book/ This story is about an author who receives a letter from a stranger who founded the above "....Society". The letters back and forth showcase life on the island of Guernsey during the German occupation of WWII. This was supposed to be a Mother's Day post, but I guess that will have to wait until tomorrow. Today while attending a Mother's Day tea with my 2 daughters and mom, I met a neighbor. I met the neighbor in a neighborhood 1 1/2 hours away. Brenda Keith, who actually lives minutes from me in Lake Tapps, was the speaker for the Tea held at North Mason Bible church in Belfair, WA. Brenda spoke beautifully about being adopted into the family of God.

Lake Tapps is small town living within minutes of big city life.When I was a girl growing up in Seattle, Lake Tapps was a vacation destination with cabins on 2+ acre lots. Now Lake Tapps is a suburb of the Greater Seattle/Tacoma area with homes on 1/2 acre or smaller lots surrounding the lake and beyond. This weekedend the movie Soul Surfer, came out in theaters. Based on the true life story of a young surfing teen who lost her arm in a shark attack. It shows her life before and after the eventful day. Young Bethany Hamilton on the verge of endorsements, loses her arm, and her future as a pro surfer, or so everyone thought. She fought back hard to learn how to surf and surf competitively. I was inspired. As I drove home, I tried to think of applications to my own life.
