Sunset Stadium at Sumner High School will be hosting the Track Division finals this weekend 5/20 & 5/21. My son Michael, will be pole vaulting.
Lake Tapps is small town living within minutes of big city life.When I was a girl growing up in Seattle, Lake Tapps was a vacation destination with cabins on 2+ acre lots. Now Lake Tapps is a suburb of the Greater Seattle/Tacoma area with homes on 1/2 acre or smaller lots surrounding the lake and beyond. Sumner High School is 1 of 18 schools in Washington State and only 1 of 3 in Pierce County that offers the International Baccalaureate Program (IB). This program has been recognized by the world's leading universities. My son is currently enrolled in the program at Sumner High School. It is challenging and time consuming, but great for any student wanting to take their education to the next level. … (0 comments)
pierce county: Puyallup Spring Fair starts tomorrow

Puyallup Spring Fair starts tomorrow, Thursday at 2:00pm and goes through Sunday. Thursday is kids free entrance and Friday is military appreciation day and all military and dependents with an ID card get free admittance. It is much smaller than our Puyallup Fair in the fall. But it is very enjoyable, to walk through the fair, without worrying about the crowds, and long lines. If you want to spend a leisurely day with your family or just go and get a scone fix, (You locals know what I mean), then go and "DO the Puyallup this weekend.
The Homeowner Assistance Program (HAP) is a wonderful program for military members. Essentially it offers assistance to some homeowners who face a financial loss when selling their home in areas where the real estate values have dropped because of base closure or realignment. The good news is that the DOD has expanded the program to help during this current mortgage crisis. Unfortunately it benefits the east coast and does not offer much help to military members on the west coast, where the mortgage crisis hit almost a year later. … (0 comments)
