Yeah, it's here. Tomorrow, April 9th, 2013 is FREE CONE DAY at the Ben & Jerry's Store on Main Street in Huntington.  The wonderful Ben & Jerry's store, which is always a treat to go to, whether you are a kid, or a kid at heard, is located at 298 Main Street in Huntington, NY.  What flavor will you choose?  Will it be Chunky Monkey, Cookie Dough, Cherry Garcia, Late Night Snack, or do you have a different flavor you plan to choose?  My passion is Willie Nelson's Country Peach Cobbler, although I'm not sure they stock it in our local store … (2 comments)

 It's LONG ISLAND FALL FESTIVAL time on Long Island.  Taking place on Friday, October 8 through Monday, October 11, the home for the annual fair is Heckscher Park in Huntington.  The four day event will feature lots of fabulous rides, hundreds of vendors, beer and wine tent, food court including a raw bar, 3 music stages for continuous entertainment, a meatball eating contest, celebrities such as the Travel Channel's Andrew Zimmern and Samantha Brown.  The festival features a spirited Columbus Day Parade to get everyone filled with Long Island pride.

As everyone knows by now, a wicked storm ripped through Brooklyn, Queens, and Long Island last evening. The evening commute home was paralyzed.  My husband boarded his train at about 5:30 and didn't get to Long Island till midnight.  After 10pm everyone was told they had to disembark, walk about 15 minutes to a subway station where they could get a train to Jamaica station.  Even then, he wasn't able to get a train to Huntington.  I picked him up after midnight in Hicksville, about a half hour away from our home.  The husband of a friend of mine was stuck … (0 comments)

The Huntington Lighthouse Music Festival is the place to be on Labor Day Weekend on the waters off the north shore of Long Island.
The 4th Annual Huntington Lighthouse Music Festival is the only music festival in the world to be held at the TOP of a working lighthouse in the middle of a body of water.

Have you noticed the teal blue ribbons all over town?  Good because everyone should take notice!  Friday, Septembe 3rd is National Teal Day to raise awareness about Ovarian Cancer.  In fact, all of September has been designated as  Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month.
