A client in Crown Point, Indiana asked me today what is a short sale and I thought I would give you my take on the issue. In today's economy many people are finding themselves up side down in their mortgages and this means they are heading for foreclosure. Being upside down means that the house is worth less on today's market than the seller owes to the lender. Today was the day Little Bubba went to kitty heaven. He had a good run of 15+ years in my lap and chasing butterflies in the garden. We will miss him. I thought I would share a cute story and appeal from my favorite animal charity in honor of my Bubba. The Independent Cat Society is a no-kill cat shelter in Westville, Indiana. When ever I have first time home buyers I end up explaining what it means for the mortgage company to hold tax and insurance in escrow. Part of that explanation involves the promise of the little annual surprise from the mortgage company. Mine came today-it was a check for $59.74 followed by a drop in my monthly mortgage payment of $6.58. That's not much but it pushed the payment from just over $1000.00 to just under $997.00-looks so much better. (2 comments)
Hidden Lake Park is located in between Broadway and I 65. It is the go to place for fun in the city. Playing host to the annual Christmas light display as well as the Fourth of July Celebrations.
Turkey Creek runs through the park making for wonderful scenery.
The entire park has many picnic areas for large and small groups. It also has a recreation building available for rent.
