As for the housing market in Castro Valley particularly on Single Family Residence, the trend is a slow recovery through the years from 2009 to 2013 right after the free fall of the market from 2007 to 2008. In the good old days of 2001 up until 2005, the housing market in Castro Valley enjoyed a robust median price of $679,500, then fell to $460,000 in 2009 and since that time has been steadily rising up to $570,000 in 2013. As of end of December 2013, here is the market report for Castro Valley per MLS - "Days on Market (DOM) for the Castro Valley area year-to-date is around 17. The median attached home price in Castro Valley for December was $422,500. As of the last day of December there were 3 active homes in Castro Valley. At current selling rates this means there is approximately 0 month of inventory in Castro Valley remaining."
