new homes in st augustine: Roadmap to Recovery - 12/02/08 11:02 PM
I am subscribed to many industry newsletters and blogs.  One of my favorites (beside this site of course) is Inman News and its editorial project: Roadmap to Recovery.
In this project Inman News polls Realtors, mortgage lenders, the mortgage-backed securities industry, title companies, technology firms as to their opinions on the future of the real estate industry.   It is interesting to read these leaders opinions of what is happening in their areas, much like reading the posts on this site.
Inman is offering a fabulous incentive to complete the survey.  Authors of published responses will receive one complimentary pass to Real Estate Connect in … (0 comments)

new homes in st augustine: A new Ball of Wax - 12/02/08 01:14 AM
Our industry is changing, evolving, into a whole new ball of wax.  This is the market that will separate the boys from the men, the wheat from the chafe.
Transaction Management is the service that will differentiate us as professionals.  Anyone can do a CMA with the information that now can be gleaned from the Internet.  Anyone can put up a sign; place an ad in the paper even post a listing on the Internet.  However, it is the professional REALTORS understanding of the market, its supply and demand, as well as velocity and trends that sets us apart.  We also … (4 comments)

new homes in st augustine: It's All Good... - 12/01/08 08:16 AM
I am reading a book titled "Fun is Good, How to Create Joy and Passion in Your Workplace and Career". The authors, Mike Veeck explains that Fun is Good is not just a concept, it's an attitude.  What brings us true professional happiness?  How can we parlay a hobby or interest into a career?

I remember when I first decided to get my real estate license.  Newly married, we purchased a brand new home in a large neighborhood in St. Augustine, Florida.  An avid runner, I would tour the neighborhood watching home after home being built.  I finally got the … (0 comments)

new homes in st augustine: Trick or Treat - 11/26/08 12:58 PM
Halloween is well over but I am still enjoying a special "treat" that I received from a local Real Estate Agent.  This agent went "trick or treating" to homes in St Augustine delivering bags of treats.  Treats such as maps, restaurant guides, buying and selling tips as well as a "Mightygrip", you know those round rubber discs that you keep in your kitchen junk drawer?   This one is personalized with the agents name and contact information.
The "Mightygrip" is not just any jar opener - it has 100 and 1 uses.  You can of course, open jars or bottles with it, … (2 comments)
