Kootenai River Meandering Past Bonners Ferry Idaho The Kootenai River flows past Bonners Ferry Idaho and shortly there after moves past the Wild Life Reserve as it heads back towards Canada. Its soft movement makes it very popular for kayaking, fishing or simply a picnic lunch to enjoy the serenity. This Sunday morning I stopped at the public boat launch where Deep Creek joins Kootenai River. Could not help but think how this morning's adventure probably meant something different to each of the 3 different generations that were out together for a little early morning fishing on the Kootenai River. kootenai river: Rotary's North Hill walk in Bonners Ferry, Idaho

Old Highway 95 coming into Bonners Ferry from the north still sits in tact above the new highway. The difference now is that it is strictly for pedestrian traffic. Bonners Ferry Rotary has taken over the 1.5 mile stretch of pavement. Cleaning, upkeep, general maintenance. They added park benches as well as picnic tables at the point that offers the most beautiful views of the Kootenai River, valley, and Old Bonners Ferry. They also put the Bonners Ferry welcome sign in for visitors and locals alike as they head south to Sandpoint and beyond thru Bonners Ferry. This walk is but

kootenai river: Bonners Ferry Annual Kootenai River Run successful in '2014'

Bonners Ferry, Idaho is a small town with a population of approximately 2,700. The town is extremely community minded with events geared towards helping locals, whether it be school programs, individuals or scholarships. One such event is the KOOTENAI RIVER RUN. A 5 and 10 K walk run starting and finishing at the Bonners Ferry Fairgrounds. Held Saturday June 21st, 2014 the event once again was a huge success. Proceeds go to scholarships for local runners as well as to the Bonners Ferry High School Cross Country Program. A last minute cancellation, from one of the volunteers, meant they were
