Don't Miss Movie 'Deepwater Horizon'
With rain continuing to pour down, this afternoon, in North Idaho, it seemed the perfect day to catch an unplanned movie. Bonners Mall Cinemas, in Ponderay - Sandpoint Idaho, still have 'Deepwater Horizon' playing. Made it there perfectly to sit in the new seats just as previews started.  Of course it does not hurt for the counter girls to know me well enough to have my drink and popcorn ready before I have even paid for my ticket.
Expecting an action movie I was taken back by the intensity of this suspensefull movie.  5 or 10 minutes into … (20 comments)

Movie Review - Batman vs Superman
I enjoy Holiday weekends because I can do what I want and not feel as though I should be doing something with Real Estate, unless I choose to.  Getting some clean up done around the house along with paperwork, I decided to see if I could catch a matinee at the Bonners Mall Cinemas.
Batman Vs Superman was perfect timing.  I see the movie is getting poor reviews already.  I must admit Batman's 'overnight' Rocky style work out in preparation of fighting Superman might be a bit much.  I enjoyed the movie.  Would see it again. … (12 comments)

Pleasant Surprise at Bonners Mall Theaters this week
A bit restless when heading home from Sandpoint the other night I decided to stop at the Bonners Mall Cinema's and see 'London Has Fallen'.  The movie was OK to watch but the best reason I can come up with to justify this evaluation is that I enjoyed the characters and really enjoy the work of Mr. Gerald Butler although this is really stretching it.  I would wait for DVD, with this movie, if watching it at all.
My surprise came in getting in just as the lights went out.  There were people scattered about … (11 comments)

Throw back Thursday - In a fashion
Having stopped at Sandpoint West Athletic Club (SWAC) today I was doing my cool down after work out and subsequent hot tub.  The senior pool work out had just finished as I was getting up and heading to the lockers.  A sweet lady came up to me and said I reminded her of one of her favorite movie stars and movies.
Standing straighter and pulling the gut in as best I could, I was thinking no way this kind lady would be talking about maybe Hulk Hogan or could it maybe be...she interupted my ego and … (17 comments)

Sandpoint Monday Movie Review - Run All Night with Liam Neeson
"Run All Night" sports an excellent cast beyond Liam.  While there is plenty of Liam "Bad" going on there is an unexpected emotional story trying to be told on a few different levels.  Also comes some cinematography that was rather unique.  Made for interesting viewing, in that it is used at different times through out the whole movie showing a unique view of the city.

I enjoyed the movie I think because of the dual side of "Jimmy", Liam's character.  While still a 'bad … (16 comments)

Sandpoint Monday Movie Review - "Focus" with Will Smith
This movie was enjoyable with a little bit of everything.  Action, romance, drama and for you Mister Roger D. Mucci more than just one "twist".  I found no parts boring and unexpected directions through out.
Looking to enjoy something a little different with some good acting and a storyline a bit off the beaten path?  This has all the glamor you would expect for high dollar hustle.  Quite a few different characters adding to the mix.  Mr. Smith is keeping himself in GREAT shape and Margot Robbie looks fantastic.  Enjoy a night at … (14 comments)

Sandpoint Monday Movie Review - "Jupiter Ascending"
"Jupiter Ascending" was a very pleasant surprise.  I did not realize until getting to the theater the main character was Channing Tatum.  For you ladies that appreciate a nice body he is shirtless about half the movie.  Cut and lean of old.  And I had to look up the actress, Mila Kunas, because I just did not recognize her.  I will have to find "Friends with Benefits" again.  I enjoyed the first time and most likely will more so the second time because of her.  Russian descent having moved here at 7 years old. … (9 comments)

Sandpoint Monday Movie Review  -  'The Boy Next Door'
Jennifer Lopez stars in this film.  A suspense thiller done pretty well.  Very predictable in most ways.  A few twists and the young man does a great job of keeping you a bit nervous.  Just not enough going on here for me to suggest seeing it on the Big Screen.  Wait for DVD.   I had heard some good reports going in, I just don't see where there was much of a plot change.  A bit out dated with new actors.  And not a bad job by the actors, more what they … (18 comments)

Sandpoint Idaho Monday Movie Review - 'American Sniper'
"American Sniper" surprised me. A Warner Brothers / Malpaso endeavor I was pretty sure I was going to enjoy the movie.  I was not at all disappointed there.  What I was not expecting was learning some things I did not realize prior to this movie.  I believe, at least on my part, when we hear the word 'Sniper' we picture someone crawing thru the deep brush and jungles and alone for days on end to accomplish a mission.  This film brought to light a completely different meaning.
I was pleased as well that … (22 comments)

Sandpoint Idaho Movie Review  -  "Taken 3"
Liam Neeson in 'Taken 3' does an excellent job again.  I enjoyed both 1 and 2 and many are saying '3' outdoes number 2.  The movie takes a couple of turns that I did not expect.  Of course one does not leave the theater wanting for more action.  Liam still is able to pull off "BAD".  One of the very pleasant surprises for me was what I thought to be an excellent job by Forest Whitaker.
All the characters are believable which makes for an entertaining time at the theater.  Overall why we go to the … (17 comments)

Sandpoint Idaho Movie Review - 'Hobbit, Battle of Five Armies'
As you know from previous posts I went to this movie on Christmas Eve.  So while late in the review, I want to express how special the movie was to me.  I had to really show some restraint in not going earlier than the December 24th show I had bought tickets for.  I like to make this a very special movie night if possible and 'Hobbit - Battle of Five Armies' did not disappoint me in my choice.

The special effects were fantastic.  The dragon 'Smaug' entirely too realistic. The … (11 comments)

This will be the last Christmas 'movie' review for this season.  We all know and enjoy most of the classics or 'must see' Christmas movies.  "It's a Wonderful Life" "A Christmas Story" "Miracle on 34th Street" and more recently "Polar Express" "Christmas Vacation" "Scrooged" "Home Alone" 1 & 2 "Santa Claus-e" 1 & 2.  If you want something fun for the whole family watch this week's Sandpoint Idaho Movie Review - 'All I want for Christmas'.

'Sandpoint North Idaho' Monday Movie Review with Mark Don McInnes
While many of you may have thought 'Monday Movie Review' was for in Theater Movies only I wanted to jump right out and let you know past and present DVD's of classics to 'B' rated are welcome as well.  What is most important to Sandpoint North Idaho Monday Movie Review with Mark Don McInnes is that we get a feel for the entertainment value.
To help get some Christmas Spirit going I thought I would mention 2 Christmas movies that may not be on your shelf and maybe should be.  'Jack Frost' with … (5 comments)

Sandpoint Monday Movie Review - 'Dumb and Dumber'

"Dumb and Dumber" with Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels is a must see if you even came close to enjoying the first one 20 years ago. If you did not see the first one, don't miss 'number to'! Of course there is the slapstick humor.  There is also the subtle humor that almost begs a second time to the movie to see what you might have missed.  Carrey and Daniels don't let you for a moment forget they are the original "Dumb and Dumber".  This is a laugh out loud movie...  Tears … (11 comments)

Mockingjay Movie at Bonners Mall in Ponderay Idaho
I had another post planned and decided to give a little two for one movie review this evening.  I have carried my passion for movies since the old double feature days, with intermission drawings, when I was a kid.  Today I still enjoy escaping to a good movie.  I have so been looking forward to "Mockingjay - Hunger games".   Not because of all the hype but because I really enjoyed the first two and have no idea which way the movies are going for I never read the books.  The Mockingjay Movie at … (9 comments)
