The apple from this week's Sandpoint Realty 'Thursday Thought', I must admit, falls all too close to my tree from time to time. Occasionally, I notice that I'm spending more time than I intended relaxing and enjoying myself, despite the fact that there is still plenty of daylight remaining. While this behavior isn't necessarily negative, I am cognizant it can easily become a habit if I'm not careful.

This week's Sandpoint Realty 'Friday Flag' is proudly displayed at a local nursery, as we gear up for the much looked forward to spring and summer planting season ahead, although the skies in the accompanying photo do not properly do justice to the soon to come sunshine. Ponderay Garden Center is located off Highway 95 on half mile North of Schweitzer Cutoff Road in Ponderay/Sandpoint Idaho. The big red barn type building being the focal point to their large inventory of plants, trees, flowers and everything 'garden'. Thank you North Idaho Business for flying 'Ole Glory' for all to see. I have long enjoyed getting up early. Watching the North Idaho morning wake up. The special serenity that is secreted to those who venture out before sunrise. This view is from turn 7 as one heads towards Schweitzer Ski Resort, from The Barn, Schweitzer free parking and shuttle to resort.
Having traveled the road many times, including my bike, I am aware of the special views from turn number 7. Anyone not familiar with the road, or Schweitzer Mountain Resort, would miss it most of the winter due to the snow banks left from the snow plows.

Sandpoint Realty 'Friday Flag' is taken early morning before snow was holding on valley floors. While many do not care for the winter lack of light, daylight roughly 7am till 4:30pm, I do enjoy this facet of the four seasons in North Idaho. Driving south, towards Sandpoint Idaho on Highway 95, one passes thru Ponderay Idaho. Quite a few USA Flags can be found as driving that section of highway.

Sandpoint Idaho is used to winter driving conditions. Part of living in North Idaho. In looking back on some photos thought you might enjoy this one not only depicting the difficult winter driving conditions, but something else as well. This photo was taken February 3, 2017. You can see the intensity of a winter storm no less, or more than those of today. What has changed a great deal are the gas prices seen upper right hand corner of the pic. We are presently prepping for more major snow storms coming thru Northern Idaho Sandpoint area. It will be interesting to watch … (13 comments)
The above picture shows Highway 95 as one exits Sandpoint Idaho and heads north towards Bonners Ferry and Canada. This photo from Monday as I was heading home and only a teaser storm about 1/5 of the projected snow of storms coming in starting today.
With this in mind I asked our agents and staff to please stay home for safety, and to take care of much needed work around the house with this type of snowfall.
