On December 21, 2017 all evacuation notices (mandatory and voluntary) were lifted pertaining to the Thomas Fire (now the largest Wildfire in California’s history) that began on December 4, 2017. Only 3 homes were destroyed in Montecito thanks to the amazing efforts by firefighters, and according to KSBY 12 homes were destroyed by the fire in community of Carpinteria.
