ruston la: Looking for great BBQ in Northern LA? Your search is over! - 03/02/17 09:05 PM
Your search is over!
Brister’s Smokehouse Barbecue is one of the best BBQ places in Northern Louisiana. Located right off Interstate 20 on Cooktown Road in Ruston, LA, Brister’s is a great place to stop for a quick bite to eat whether you have all day or if you’re just passing through. Their service is fast, their prices inexpensive, and their food is delicious. Locals, including many students from Louisiana Tech, pile in at lunch time to get a taste of what they have to offer. Brister's slow smokes new meat every day guaranteeing a fresh lunch or supper full of flavor. … (7 comments)

ruston la: Dream Home - 02/05/17 03:23 PM

When you think of your Dream Home, what do you think of? If money was not a problem, would that change your desires? What elements are your “must haves”? Do you want a wide front porch with rocking chairs? Would you like to have an outdoor kitchen and patio overlooking a pool? Enough room for all of your children and grandchildren to come over and be comfortable? Large master bath and a Jacuzzi tub? Lots of storage space, large closets, big kitchens, and low maintenance landscaping are other things that also top most lists.
Maybe you want a House on the … (6 comments)

ruston la: Tested Property Management Services Passed - 02/03/17 01:26 PM
A client came to us in need of only one property to be managed in the Ruston area. We managed this one particular property for about a year before adding a second property. Little did we know, this client had amassed more than fifty properties over the years! A majority of their properties were set up for Section 8 housing. Since we had offices in both West Monroe and Ruston, and accounts already established with the section 8 offices in North Louisiana, it seemed we were a perfect fit to handle their new additions as well as their existing properties. We … (3 comments)

ruston la: Ruston Peach Festival - 01/25/17 08:46 PM
“Millions of Peaches. Peaches for Me!”
Some of you will get that 1990s reference, and now you’re gonna sing that for the remainder of your day….for the rest of you, who don’t have a clue, I’m sorry you’re not cool like us!
Anyway…..Why am I singing this song today? Well, in a previous blog, we talked about the town of Ruston, Louisiana. In it, we briefly mentioned the Peach Festival. Today, we’re going to dive deeper into that Festival and see what it’s all about.
The Peach Festival was begun in the 1950s by area peach farmers. The first festival was small, but was … (8 comments)

ruston la: "For Sale"!!! - 01/24/17 06:11 PM
FOR SALE.
Seeing that sign gets me so excited. Even before I had my real estate license, my wife and I were buying ugly houses to remodel. We searched for those For Sale signs. Everywhere. All the time. We drove around town in our free time. We scoured the classified ads in the newspaper (Ok, yeah, this is showing my age!) We went to Open Houses on the weekends to get ideas. We toured the St. Jude Dream Homes. We had the FEVER, y’all.
Now that I am an official Real Estate Agent, I still get excited to see a house … (6 comments)

We R Ruston! Go Cats!
These are 2 shouts one may hear when passing through Ruston Louisiana on a Bearcat Friday.   Ruston High School football is the stuff “Friday Night Lights” is made of. Steeped in tradition and pride, with roots dating back to 1921, Ruston High School continues to pay homage to the past while blazing in to the future. It’s ranked as an A school, and offers its students so many extracurricular activities and Dual Enrollment classes, your head would spin to read the list!
Ruston High School is only one of the few things that Ruston, Louisiana has … (0 comments)
