marketing: QR Codes... - 05/21/11 12:56 AM
I'm not a newbie and welcome most improvements and changes that can enhance our abilities to communicate with buyers and sellers. But, I'd like to know more about something before I begin using it.
However, with that being said, I'd like to hear from my colleagues about the new QR codes.
Are you using them? Are they effective? What is the main purpose of them?
They remind me of the older "bar codes" that we are now seeing on virtually every product known to man.
Do I need to download an app for my Droid to be able to scan them?

marketing: Social Media and Networking - 04/28/11 01:15 AM
I know that everyone keeps hearing about how important social media is and I must agree!
I'm on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn plus several others.
Not only do I enjoy the sites for networking and communication, but they have helped me gain clients as well.  (and for Free)
I also enjoy some of the games on the sites to help me take an occasional break from the real estate paperwork, etc.
Lastly, I've been able to reconnect with past friends and family members.
If you aren't "social networking" you need to start!  What better way to keep yourself in front of the … (4 comments)

marketing: Too Busy? - 07/12/09 01:57 PM
I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm so busy with buyers that some days I literally get enough time to eat one meal for the day.  I know, I know, it's a horrible problem to have.  LOL.
Actually, I'm very grateful to the government for their efforts in curbing the housing market crisis.  The main thing that concerns me though, is what might happen once all of the "incentives" disappear.
It reminds me of the auto industry on how accustomed the customers became to the incentive programs that bombarded the industry for years.
We can all appreciate the … (5 comments)

marketing: Collecting email addresses... - 10/25/07 12:16 AM
This doesn't pertain to my hometown blog, however what better place to ask than on this website?
Does anyone have any tried and proven ways of "collecting" email addresses from potential clients?  I have tried to think of various ways to do this w/o violating any of the tedious laws pertaining to realtors and give aways.
One that I think might work very well would be to have a drawing for a pair of my Cincinnati Bengal's tickets w/parking pass.  However, they aren't doing so well and with my luck, I'd end up with 2 or 3 addresses.  The best and most trafficked … (6 comments)

marketing: Advertising budget - 10/22/07 02:37 PM
Well, I guess since I've written several different stories to help others avoid some of the costly mistakes that I've made, I might as well add one more.  I've actually considered writing a book on "how to keep some of your money for yourself and not give it to people who claim to be able to put your name on the top of everyone's list for a real estate agent."  I know, it's a very long title for a book, but I think you should be able to get the jest of it.  I didn't realize that I was such a … (3 comments)

marketing: Very affordable marketing idea... - 09/26/07 02:04 AM
With today's marketing dollars being squeezed by the "less than awesome income" that we've enjoyed in the past, we have to find ways to market ourselves at a lower cost.
The most cost effective one that I've come up with is magazines!  Yes, magazines.  Especially the FREE ones offered by using your airline miles.  I've subscribed to a lot different ones.  I place a "personalized" label on them letting the reader know that I placed them in the doctor's offices, lounges, hair salons etc. for their enjoyment at my expense.  I also remind them that when they are searching for a Realtor, I'd love to be … (8 comments)

marketing: Flea Marketing for exposure - 09/18/07 10:58 AM
Has anyone ever tried getting additional exposure by setting up a table at a flea market?  I've considered doing this because of the HIGH volume of traffic that both of the markets draw in every weekend. (within 2 miles of where I live)
I could make up some brochures, magnets and some other promotional items, lay them out on a table and see what happens.
I think it's a very good idea, but I'm just curious if any of you have tried it and what kind of results you got.  Any suggestions and/or ideas are most welcome.  Thanks!
