brookside shops: REMIX-A New Consignment Shop in Brookside - 07/30/19 12:59 PM
Did you know there is a women’s consignment shop in Brookside??  I didn’t!  It’s fairly new, having opened in April.  Remix  is a welcome addition for female shoppers who appreciate a bargain—and want to ‘recyle’ their stylish clothes.

Owner Catherine O’Sullivan moved here from Boston ten years ago.  She has a background in fundraising, having worked for the KC Symphony and UMKC.  But, she says, “I always had the small business bug in me”.  She did a lot of shopping in consignment stores in Boston and decided to open her own shop here.

"Would Kate Middleton wear it?"  That's part of the criteria owner Abby Flores has when choosing clothes for her new Brookside shop, Lady Bye.    Located in the former Shopgirls space at 6245 Brookside Plaza (near Foos and 5B Candles), Lady Bye opened last week and the buzz is spreading.  When I stopped by, two ladies from my office were browsing in the store!

As Abby explained, Lady Bye offers clothes with a classic, "east coast" feel, inspired by the elegance and beauty of style icons like Princess DIana, Jackie Kennedy and...Kate Middleton.  Inside this cozy shop you'll see jackets, sweaters, dresses, tops, and … (1 comments)

You may have noticed a new shop along 63rd St in Brookside:  Design in the City has moved into the former Reading Reptile location.  This is the second location for Design in the City; the first one is in Briarcliff.

Proprietor Mindy Diaz told me there were two reasons she chose this spot:  many of her customers wanted a 'south' location, and her best friend is Pam DiCappo, who owns Lauren Alexander next door.  She felt her lines of clothing and accessories would complement the other shops in the area.  This is a store you will love browsing in--everything is so  beautifully … (0 comments)

I love to write about my neighborhood, the Brookside area of Kansas City, where I live in the Armour Hills subdivision. I keep it short, simple, and to the point with articles about general real estate topics so you have current, useful information about real estate trends and news. Sometimes I write about local politics, new homes for sale, and of course, my clients! Thanks for reading! I welcome your feedback.
