cottage grove: Woodbury showings down about 15% last week. - 11/09/10 08:32 AM
The twin cities real estate market is showing some signs of weakness right now. But not for The Johnson Real Estate Group, we have received two contracts on short sales and hope to see another shortly on a third home. Sure, there are ups and downs and seasonality issues that must be observed but everyone needs a roof over their heads and you are not going to stop that need just because of an election or holidays.... The next two months are when most major corporations move around their key employees so if you are in Woodbury Minnesota and are thinking … (0 comments)

cottage grove: Why buying a home in the Twin Cities right now could be your best investment ever! - 11/08/10 01:57 AM
For your Woodbury real estate needs contact The Johnson Real Estate Group. How does the future of the economy directly affect your decision to buy a home today? It could be time to sell your low-yielding bonds and replace them with higher-yielding common stocks.
Multibillionaire hedge fund operator John Paulson, the investment genius who made a killing going short subprime mortgages a few years ago, told a standing room only crowd at New York's  University Club that double-digit inflation is about to rear its ugly head by 2012, killing the bond market, and restoring strength to equities and gold.

cottage grove: Bank owned home, new listing, first open and over 15 groups! - 11/07/10 08:56 AM
I make sure to do my fair share of open houses for The Johnson Real Estate Group at Keller Williams and today was a hit! We had plenty of interest in this bank owned Woodbury home in the Evergreen neighborhood. Of course there were several neighbors that were checking it out but two had friends/ family who are in the market and looking at this neighborhood. I don't know about you but we just might be in for a good run this spring... I'm excited already!

Why is right now the best time in 5 years to buy real estate in the twin cities? Visit The Johnson Real Estate Group at www.tjreg.com to see if buying a home now is right for you!
It's now November and avg daily temps are falling below 50 degrees here in the Woodbury area of the Twin Cities. You would think that buyers are staying in bed and more interested in watching football all weekend right? Not so! I had 15 people through my open house on Sunday and there were several more who slowed down while driving past as I picked … (0 comments)

cottage grove: Getting top dollar for Woodbury Minnesota Home! - 10/26/10 04:20 AM
Not a problem with The Johnson Real Estate Group, however, I am continually amazed at the condition in which some sellers allow their homes to be shown! This is your largest asset and yet you leave dirty dishes out, don't mop the floors/vaccume, or even bother to pick up your clothes or do the laundry before a potential buyer makes their appearence. In order to get top dollar in today's market, or any market for that matter... do the basics... PLEASE!

cottage grove: Twin Cities 3rd Quarter housing numbers - 10/20/10 04:07 AM
For all your real estate needs contact The Johnson Real Estate Group at Keller Williams! www.tjreg.com
Housing Market Remains Sluggish, Prices & Affordability Up
September housing activity finished the 3rd quarter with some sluggish yet promising numbers. Most housing statistics remain level with either small increases or modest growth being more likely than losses. This is a typical model for most market recoveries where prices move slightly up or down until the recovery is fully underway. it is also a promising sign for an industry which has weathered almost 4 years of declining activity.

cottage grove: Realtor opens rock! - 10/19/10 09:40 AM
I have been discouraged recently with activity at regular open houses activity but boy was today a great day at www.tjreg.com. We had over 20 agents and a handfull of buyers through on two listings in the mid to low $200's and a couple follow up showings scheduled already. I want to thank everyone that made it by today and appreaciate all the constructive feedback that was received!
With all the tech tools to day it's important we do not forget the basics about spreading the word and promoting our listings. Showing activity may be down even with the seasonal adjustments … (0 comments)

cottage grove: Weekly update for the Twin Cities Housing Market - 10/18/10 10:51 AM
As the mercury inches downward outside, grab your favorite hot beverage and let's review the buyers and sellers weekly dance card. Bear in mind that current activity may look especially slow compared to last year's tax-credit-induced performance.
For the week ending October 9, sellers continued to pick up their tempo by introducing 1,479 new listings to the marketplace. That's only 4.1 percent fewer new homes than last year at this time, as the year-over-year comparison gap continues to narrow. Buyers danced to a slower beat. The 523 pending sales for the week were 44.8 percent fewer than last year. That's the … (0 comments)

cottage grove: Good pulse to showing activity last weekend! - 10/11/10 04:56 AM
With showing activity down since the expiration of the home buyer tax credit i have been cautiously optimistic about where the Midwest home values are headed. Inventory levels remain in the 27,000 unit range for the 13 county Twin Cities metro and show no signs of subsiding yet due to seasonality decline. I eagerly await the spring in hopes that signs of improvement will show however I'm not holding my breath! Till next time.....

cottage grove: Holding pattern... are the winds too strong for a safe landing? - 10/07/10 06:35 AM
Ever since this tax credit expired the sales for my market have been somewhat stagnant. Showing activity continues to be dismal at best and has remained at early February type levels through the summer and early fall. I can't help but wonder if we are in for a long cold winter or if this is what we should expect to see for a while until the economy shows some real signs of recovery. One thing is for sure, your home has to be positioned as an amazing value in the twin cites real estate market to be sold by winter.
