aloe tree: Aloe trees growing in Kula Maui Hawaii

I've often seen these strange looking trees growing in Kula Maui and wondered what they were, until I learned they are members of the aloe family. You can find them growing upcountry in the cooler climates such as Kula and Makawao. Apparently you can grow them easily from a cutting that's been allowed to dry out for a week or two first.
