With increasing water shortages and power struggles with electric providers, many people are getting fed up with having no control over such basics necessities of life. We kind of take some things for granted when we own a home, such as clean and plentiful water, and a reliable source of power. Largest solar panel project in Maui County history is underway
This week Mayor Alan Arakawa announced that contracts have been awarded in order to install the largest solar panel project in Maui County history.  A wide range of people across the County government supported the idea and made it happen.  At least 1,000 photovoltaic panels will be up and running by the end of the year on these County properties on 3 islands (Maui, Molokai and Lanai).  This project will save taxpayers a lot of money since our electric rates are among the highest in the nation.  Alternative energy is alive and well … (7 comments)
