Buying an electric vehicle in Hawaii just got easier thanks to a handy tool to help you calculate whether or not it's worth it. You can choose a model of car and see how it compares to your current vehicle. By using your current electricity bill, and current gas prices, the WattPlan for electric vehicles will determine whether or not you'll save money. Some neighborhoods in Hawaii will be able to purchase power on a tiered system with daytime being cheaper due to input from rooftop solar. That could make a world of difference and mean owning an electric car really pays (3 comments)
electric vehicle: Electric vehicle charging station in Wailuku Maui HI

Electric vehicle charging station in Wailuku Maui HI With more and more people on Maui driving electric vehicles, there are more charging stations popping up. This one is located in front of the OLD Maui Court House on High St. There are 3 parking stalls dedicated to electric vehicles only. When I got to this parking lot only 1 stall was being used, but in just a few minutes there were 3 Leaf cars plugged in.
As far as I know all charging stations on Maui are still free, to help stimulate more interest and sales of electric cars (EVs). (8 comments)
