What can you do with too many papayas? Chicken feed! We got some seeds from a Panamanian papaya, and it grows these huge fruits that are really too big to eat even if you try all week. Since we have an abundance of papayas right now, we can't possibly keep up, so guess what... the lucky chickens are eating very well these days.
The summer time weather has been great and the papayas are cranking here in Haiku Maui. We give lots away too, but I know the chickens really love them, so why not make their day?
