For those who don't - let's just say all the indicators are WAY up, with the exception of Days on Market.
Sellers love that homes sell quickly and for full price.
Buyers are often disappointed when they don't get what they want.
Cash is king and there's LOTS of it.

My October profile picture update challenge - this is an entry in the challenge by Paul Henderson
The old picture was taken at the Hawaii Life office in Wailea a couple of years ago. Winston came over with a professional camera and used a white screen background so many of us Hawaii Lifers could get a nice head shot. The plan was to have some consistency on their website, and have a lot of the pictures look casual and fun, yet similar. It was a good idea and I thought it was going to happen again each year, but apparently not.

It's not often you get to see a classic home like this on Maui's north shore, with the good old fashioned stainless steel double sink that was very state of the art back then. Remember those red formica countertops? In the 60's we used to have the table and chairs that matched that red formica, with the chrome legs and trim band around the edge. That brings back some memories!

While I'm on the topic of celebrity real estate on Maui (see previous blog post about the Maui Brando Estate), it's notable that the oceanfront property of Sammy Hagar just closed a few days ago after being on and off the market for many years. $3,100,000 seems like a pretty good price for 9.8 oceanfront acres with a house and cottage, swimming pool and cabana, a well and solar power system! This is the kind of property where you can be self sustaining.

At the beach on Maui - everyone is welcome and there are no privately owned beaches.
Polo Beach is in front of the Four Seasons Resort in Wailea Maui, and there's a big parking lot, restrooms and a public shower.
