The County of Maui Bus Service will soon extend the Kula Villager Route #39 to go a little further, and will include the Hawaiian Homelands in Keokea and the Kula Hospital. Starting September 27, 2016 the expanded trip will now operate on a 1.5 hour cycle instead of the previous 1 hour cycle. Service runs from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm.

Yes you really can grow a pineapple from the cut off top, as you can see here. These were grown from recycled pineapple tops. It helps if you're very patient as it can take years.
It shouldn't take you years to find a home for sale in Haiku Maui, especially if you have helpf from a local Haiku Realtor like myself. Buy a home in Haiku and start growing pineapples!

Not that many bank owned condos for sale on Maui
You would think there would be a lot of bank owned/REO condos in a resort area like Maui. Considering there are thousands of condos, I'm surprised to see there are only a few REOs in our MLS. There are probably still more coming, but for now this is what's available.
Currently there are only 16 of these bank owned foreclosure condominiums for sale, and 6 of those are under contract, leaving only 10 Active listings.

My husband endorses this automotive shop in Wailuku, and that really means something as he's a tough customer to please. He likes that they can get the vehicle in quickly and get the job done the same day if possible. He likes that they don't charge an arm and a leg and they do a good job. What more can I say?

We have enjoyed a really good meal at the new restaurant in Paia... Hana Ranch Provisions. They strive to grow their own food for the eatery, and the beef comes from the Hana Ranch which has a long history of cattle ranching. Since we also raise our own grass fed beef, we are hard to please, but honestly their hamburger was praise worthy and I'll go there again.

You can be sure of a great meal when you visit the Haliimaile General Store (which is really a top notch restaurant) in this quaint village just below Makawao. It was once a general store when this was a company town in the heart of pineapple country. Pineapples are still grown here and now they use them to make vodka!

What's been selling up in Kula Maui this year to date? In March, upcountry sales were the biggest chunk of the Maui real estate market (excluding condos) as far as dollar volume goes.

We were blessed to have some honey bees move into an old shed and build their hive here on our Haiku Maui farm. They have been very busy because there was a huge amount of honey combs inside when we took a quick peek. Luckily a friend and neighbor who has his own hives suggested he could remove the queen bee and the colony to his nearby location. He even offered to leave us with the honey since he already has plenty.

I'm in the process of studying for my RE Broker exam in Hawaii, at the Ralph Foulger's School of Real Estate. They bring their classes to Maui once in a while so it was a great opportunity to attend this month. It's 3 full days a week, for 3 weeks in a row. Intense learning for an important license.
