2018 Halloween in Lahaina Maui keeps on rocking Every year Maui celebrates Halloween with fun things for the whole family, such as costume parade and contests, face painting, live entertainment, and lots of good food. The fun begins at noon and continues until midnight. Front Street will be closed off to car traffic after 3 or so and people can parade and mingle and show off their creations. Please no alcohol in the streets. After dark the adults can boogie down under the big old banyan tree with DJ Serna. Check out some pictures from past years at Halloween in Lahaina. The Sophie Swim event in Kaanapali Maui kicks off this year on Sunday August 28, 2016, from 7 - 10 am. This fun event is for anyone 12 and older, in memory of Sophie DeLoria. It's an open water 2 kilometer swim from Kahekili Beach Park to Black Rock and back. It's a charitable event for the whole family to enjoy and participate in. Prizes will be awarded to winners and runners up. Categories and age groups, with or without swim fins are separate: Youths 12-14; Youths 15-17; Adults 18-20; Adults 21-25; Adults 26-30; Adults 31-35; Adults 36-40; Adults 41-45; Adults 46-50; Adults 51-55; Adults 56-60; Adults 61-65; Adults 66-70; Adults 71 and older
Front Street in Lahaina Maui is always a fun place to be, even when it's not Halloween. There's so many interesting shops and restaurants to visit. For history buffs there's even some museums, and plenty of historical buildings and sites. The Lahaina Harbor is right there, with tour boats and fishing charters coming and going.
