What do you get when you take some driftwood, corks, and heavy guage wire?  A fun fish to hang on the wall! 
A neighbor had a driftwood party and invited a bunch of us over to get creative.  She went to a lot of bother to gather piles of driftwood, and soak it and dry it to get rid of any creepy crawlies.  We were inspired with all the woods, scraps of wires, rocks, shells, and other fun things to put together.  Glue guns, power tools, drills and what not were all … (20 comments)

If you want an oceanfront home in Kihei Maui, the options are somewhat limited, because much of the coastal real estate is taken up by condominium resorts, and beach parks.  South Kihei Road is the main artery along the coastline, and there's a few streets that extend beyond this and offer some neighborhoods with single family homes.  Uluniu Rd. is one, and Halama St. is another.  Let's see what's happening on Halama St....

During this past Hurricane Lane event that happened in Hawaii in August, it was a good feeling knowing we were completely prepared in so many ways.  Strong winds knocked down trees, which knocked down power lines, causing loss of electricity for thousands of homes. Kula 200 is one of the premiere neighborhoods in Upcountry Maui, situated where Pukalani meets Kula, and technically it's in Pukalani but it sure feels more like Kula.  Street names in Kula 200 include: Aulii Drive; Aulii Place; Poha Place; Lealea Place; Hoopalua Drive; Welina Place and Alokele Place.

The Kualono lots have sold.  After the initial frenzy when the 49 upcountry lots were offered by a lottery on 9//11/2016, things have settled down and the lots have closed.  People were dying to buy into this gated community off the Old Haleakala Highway.  Ground work is ongoing at the site while infrastructure is being completed.

I was helping a potential buyer trying to decide what community they wanted to live and the question was posed -
    If a community has an HOA, does it stop in 20 years, or when does the HOA stop making rules for those homeowners?
