Just a reminder about my oceanfront Haiku estate located along the beautiful north shore of Maui, in the Huelo area. An exceptional luxury listing!
It's a GREEN home. This 2 acre residential estate is off the grid, with it's very own power and water supply, plus high speed fiber optics for internet. You can hunker down here in total comfort, while growing your own food and enjoying ocean access to the nearby Ho'olawa Bay. The community here is friendly and welcoming. The south shore - Kihei, Wailea, Makena - is where you'll find most of these expensive luxury houses and condos, which are second or third homes for many people. Most will be oceanfront or beachfront properties.
The resort areas enjoy great weather with lots of sunshine, year round. Maui is definitely a playground for the rich!

Kahului Harbor, Kahului Maui HIIf you fly to Maui, chances are you'll fly into Kahului Airport, OGG. Kahului is our main commercial hub, and along with the airport, there's a harbor where maritime shipping happens, and cruise ships stop in. It's not the most attractive spot on the island, but it's not bad either, and you generally won't find a lot of tourists here.

More of the most expensive property sales on Maui
This is a followup to the 2021 Q1 report of the most expensive real estate sales on Maui - houses, condos and land. Total dollar volume was $62,250,000 more or less.
Click here for the 2021 Q2 report. I selected the highest priced sale in each month of April, May and June, in each category. Lots of beachfront and oceanfront homes and land of course. This time the total dollar volume was $102,425,000 for just 9 properties - making for an average price of around $11.3 million.

Can you ever get tired of this beach scene at Kuau Maui?
It's not the first time, and it won't be the last, for me to show off this beautiful peaceful beach scene in front of Mama's Fish House in Kuau Maui Hawaii. When we lived just a few houses away from this beach, I would walk to the beach every morning and comb the sand for seashells. The tidepools are great for dipping in, with no worries about getting swept out to sea.

Yes I have new fresh footage of this beautiful cliff-edge vacant lot on Maui's north shore. I've put it all together in a 1-minute movie that showcases the lot and the surrounding neighborhood and geography. The setting is quite spectacular and it doesn't compare to really being there! To stand at the edge of this lot and look at the views up and down the coast, with the trade winds on your face, well it's breathtaking!

Kihei Maui - Every day at sunset the tourists gather on the rooftop of the oceanfront Menehune Shores condo building to watch the sun sink into the sea, and experience the ceremony of blowing the conch shell!
So we played tourist the other day and went along with our Canadian visitors to see for ourselves. We walked across South Kihei Road to the endless beach, where others were getting ready to enjoy the sunset. Huelo, in Haiku Maui, has some smaller neighborhoods that are oceanfront. Along Maui's north shore you'll find some great communities with large parcels and homesteads, small farms, and organic farms. Huelo, Waipio, Honokala, Hoolawa, Honopou - these are some of the neighborhoods.

Here's a link to a short video taken at Ho'okipa Beach Park, in Paia Maui. The PWA Aloha Classic was on hold because the waves were too big and dangerous. This annual competition pits the best men and women windsurfers in the world. But despite the lack of contestants battling it out on the waves, the beach scene was colorful and interesting, as it usually is.

A recent Realtor event brought me to this lovely oceanfront location in Wailea Maui. We were learning about how to maximize our presence on social media. I think this poolside scene looks like a good way to maximize being present and being social - the old fashioned way.

If you want an oceanfront home in Kihei Maui, the options are somewhat limited, because much of the coastal real estate is taken up by condominium resorts, and beach parks. South Kihei Road is the main artery along the coastline, and there's a few streets that extend beyond this and offer some neighborhoods with single family homes. Uluniu Rd. is one, and Halama St. is another. Let's see what's happening on Halama St....
Halama Street - runs between Kalama Park to the south, and up to W. Kapu Rd. to the north.

The weather has been pretty nice in Haiku Maui lately so we were able to get the Phantom 4 up in the air for some new aerial footage and snap shots to showcase my oceanfront listing at 460 Hoolawa Rd. You really need to see this from the air to appreciate the outrageous cliff top setting and the dramatic location. This little flying camera does a great job!
