Really good hamburgers at Hana Ranch Provisions, Paia Maui
We have enjoyed a really good meal at the new restaurant in Paia... Hana Ranch Provisions. They strive to grow their own food for the eatery, and the beef comes from the Hana Ranch which has a long history of cattle ranching. Since we also raise our own grass fed beef, we are hard to please, but honestly their hamburger was praise worthy and I'll go there again.
The menu is limited, but so is the menu at my house where we also eat a lot of our own home grown produce and meat. … (6 comments)

It's nice to see a lot of new real estate listings in the Paia area as it's usually pretty slim pickings. Right now there are 22 listings of homes, and 3 condo listings for sale.
Here's what's happening in the residential sector:

When it's time to eat lunch or dinner in Paia Maui, the Paia Fishmarket restaurant can be counted on for good fresh fish and other choices. I tend to always get this delicious Ceaser salad with grilled mahi mahi or ono, but often find myself eyeballing other plates as they come out of the kitchen. I haven't tried all of the dishes, but judging from the happy faces at the family style tables, it's all good!

While we're used to seeing lots of rainbows on the north shore of Maui, this one is different!
Thisa colorful array of boards has found a home at the Rainbow Hostel in Paia Maui, on Baldwin Ave.
The busy little beach town of Paia is a fun place to spend the day shopping and eating, if you get tired of being on the beach. Be sure to put Paia on your "must see" list when visiting Maui.

There's so much going on in Paia these days it's hard to keep up. Here are some pictures taken over the past month or so showing what's up and coming in the commercial sector of this little beach town.
A month ago the old Paia Yoga studio was getting a makeover to prepare for the arrival of Mesh Yoga from New York. Yesterday I noticed they are now open!

There's a new yoga company coming to Maui and they'll be taking up residence in the old Paia Yoga store on the Hana Highway, that classic plantation style yellow building pictured here. (yeah it's a bit grungy but that's the filter, not the building)
People on the north shore of Maui love to do yoga and live a healthy lifestyle, so this will be a perfect match.

I should have had a beer!
It was my dad's last day on Maui and we stopped in at Rock & Brews in Paia for a quick lunch on the outside terrace. He ordered a Pina Colada for a change, and my husband had a beer. When he was half way done I asked him how he liked his drink. He said, "I should have had a beer". Hahaha. Well at least he ordered the baby back ribs so he was quite happy with his meal.

This annual contest is going to be a two day event this year, so come out and have fun all weekend January 17 and 18, at Paia Bay, to benefit the Paia Youth and Cultural Center. See the hint of a rainbow over the ocean, out towards Haiku? That's why we drove into Paia for lunch, and to get a little sunshine the other day.
This end of Baldwin Beach is closer to Spreckelsville, and it's great for little kids to swim inside the protected area. It's not so easy to find the first time, but worth it. There were kitesurfers off to the left catching the light breeze.

If you've been to Paia Maui you probably noticed the cute store on Baldwin Avenue, called Alice in Hulaland. It's been a fixture in this beach town for many years, and one of the best boutiques for some really unique clothes and accessories. Lots of celebrities like to come here to shop.

Where: 381 Baldwin Avenue, Paia, Maui in the historic Paia Train Depot across from the old sugar mill on Baldwin Ave.
It's a furniture bazaar featuring vintage and modern furnishings. A lot of the pieces are restored and reclaimed wood fashioned into new uses, and have come from Indonesia and Bali and Thailand.
