You know what they say... where there's rain, there's rainbows, and we get plenty of them here in Hawaii. rain: A good year for citrus fruit on Maui after all the rain

This past season has been very wet on Maui and it's no secret. The good side of that means we had a bumper crop of citrus fruits like oranges and lemons! Our little orange orchard in Haiku really produced a tremendous amount of navel oranges this winter and our visitors have been loving it... making fresh juice every morning. The lemons have also been very abundant, and of course you know what you're supposed to do when life gives you lemons.... make lemonade! So raise your lemonade or orange juice glass and toast to this plentiful harvest of citrus fruits on Maui!
Well just when I was bragging about the great January weather we've been having here in Hawaii, we got slammed with a weather system that dumped 3.5 inches of rain on us on Saturday and Sunday. Not just in Haiku, but other areas of Maui too. It can stop anytime! On the other hand, we were needing some rain since it had been getting so dry and dusty, and the garden was needing watering daily.
