The weather has been pretty nice in Haiku Maui lately so we were able to get the Phantom 4 up in the air for some new aerial footage and snap shots to showcase my oceanfront listing at 460 Hoolawa Rd.  You really need to see this from the air to appreciate the outrageous cliff top setting and the dramatic location.  This little flying camera does a great job!

Disclaimer - it's not about building materials, but more about lifestyle.
During this past Hurricane Lane event that happened in Hawaii in August, it was a good feeling knowing we were completely prepared in so many ways.  Strong winds knocked down trees, which knocked down power lines, causing loss of electricity for thousands of homes. As I'm updating some links on my eastmaui.com website today I'm noticing the active and pending listings in the different parts of Maui, Hawaii.  A few random statistics caught my eye and it's interesting to see that the oceanfront segment of the market has a lot of inventory but very few properties under contract.  It appears to be the toughest selling category, but this report does not include condos which is a whole different market.

The Kualono lots have sold.  After the initial frenzy when the 49 upcountry lots were offered by a lottery on 9//11/2016, things have settled down and the lots have closed.  People were dying to buy into this gated community off the Old Haleakala Highway.  Ground work is ongoing at the site while infrastructure is being completed.

What was the real estate market doing in 2016 when it comes to vacant land on Maui's north shore?  There were plenty of great listings to choose from, and the number of sales stayed pretty stable compared to last year, but dollar amount was way up.
