Grateful that my dad is well taken care of at 97! I am so happy that my old dad is able to live in his own home in Vancouver, and he has good care and good caregivers. Since I live on Maui, it's not so easy to just pop in and help out. He used to spend a lot of time with us here on Maui, but now traveling isn't so easy. I'm on an extended trip to Canada which brings me to Thanksgiving which is just around the corner. It feels like winter is also around the corner up here with the maple leaves falling to the ground and a chill at night. There's already snow in some parts!

Thankful for a family Christmas with 4 generations This year we'll do something different for Christmas, and fly to Vancouver to be with my old dad. Since he's 96 and almost 97 it's a little harder for him to travel, so we'll do the travelling this year. My nephew will join us, and so will his niece, which makes 4 generations under the roof for a few days! Now you see it, now you don't - hiding in plain sight. I love how this "box" was camouflaged into the surroundings so it wouldn't have to look ugly. Taken in Vancouver BC, which is a big city that knows how to put its best face forward. Every season brings out beautiful colors and textures, and the changing landscape is wonderful to behold. People in this city really love to garden and they take pride in the surroundings. Maybe we could all learn something from a simple act such as this. Thanks for reading my Maui blog... Canada Geese love English Bay in Vancouver B.C. I'm spending some time up in Vancouver B.C. Canada and the weather has been so great for taking walks along the shore in English Bay. This is a very beautiful and scenic part of Canada, on the west coast, with the ocean and snow capped mountains dominating the natural landscape. The cityscape is something else to see, with towering high rises, harbors and bridges, old and new architecture. It's a dynamic and busy place.
