Short movie at Pohaku Beach Park on Maui, aka S-turns
Just a short and sweet little movie to highlight another beautiful beach on Maui's west side. There's off street parking for about a dozen cars, and some picnic tables in the shade. What a great spot to do a little surfing, paddle boarding, or just get some sun.
I used the Quik app from GoPro to put this together using a couple of video clips and snapshots. They make it very easy.
You can find Pohaku Beach off the coastal Lower Honoapiilani Road in the Napili area.

The views at Papalaua Wayside Park and beach, West Maui
It's just a small sandy beach with some unpaved places to pull over and park, but the views are phenomenal.
If you're driving around Maui seeing the sights, Papalaua Wayside Park is in between Maalaea and Olowalu, and makes a great place to stop and rest, to stretch your legs. Just on the west side of the "tunnel" as you drive between Kahului and Lahaina.
No fancy improvements or landscaping here, just the natural wild beauty of the shoreline and the ocean. You'll find a portable potty and trash bin so you … (9 comments)

The Honoapiilani Highway meanders along the coast as you drive through Olowalu on Maui's west side. Traffic can be slow since it's a narrow 2 lane road and the scenery is always beautiful. No need to rush, you're on Maui time now. Take it slow and enjoy the ride, and be thankful for another day.

Maui Escape Rooms in Lahaina is a fun activity you can do with the whole family.
You may have heard of this type of activity on the mainland, but it's a first for Maui. They have 2 themes for the rooms, one is Jail Break, and the other is Bank Heist. A third room is being prepared for December with a Christmas theme. More variations will be coming soon.

Access to West Maui beaches is getting easier with an online database that will be an ongoing project. Recent attention on this matter has caused the County of Maui to get serious about enforcing public parking spots at the resorts. Time limits on the public parking zones are also not legal, though some resorts post signs stating the time limits.

Front Street, Lahaina - before the Halloween event
Front Street in Lahaina Maui is always a fun place to be, even when it's not Halloween. There's so many interesting shops and restaurants to visit. For history buffs there's even some museums, and plenty of historical buildings and sites. The Lahaina Harbor is right there, with tour boats and fishing charters coming and going. Lots of activity here on Front St. and lots to see and do.

With my new listing in Olowalu Mauka I have been doing more market research into the West Maui real estate market. Lots of driving around the towns on the west side... Lahaina, Kaanapali, Honokawai, Napili, etc. It's a different world over there, compared to the north shore and south shore of Maui.

Happy Chinese New Year from Whalers Village, Kaanapali Maui
I was lucky to see these Chinese Lion Dancers and musicians at the Whalers Village in Kaanapali. After showing some beachfront condos I stopped in for a quick lunch just in time to see the performance celebrating Chinese New Year in Hawaii. They put on a good show for the tourists in this little shopping center by the ocean, a popular destination for Maui visitors.
