As a seller do you think that you can price your property where you want to price it? Do you believe that buyers will pay you what you want and/or need to move? Do you believe that what you sell your house for will be your mortgage plus your credit card debt, plus your tax liability, plus your child's college education plus a down payment on a new property?

The phrase "free" market analysis really rubs me the wrong way. Do we use the word free as an enticement for a homeowner to have us come into their homes and have a discussion about what their home is worth? We are saying it won't cost you anything, it is free so why not, you might as well.

We are all told that listings are golden. It doesn't feel okay to not want a listing but that is how I felt on a recent listing presentation I went on. There were two problems. The owner had bought the house only three years ago and paid $570,000 for it. At the height of the market.
While lots of us have different opinions and experiences in terms of what is going on with the real estate market in Westchester County it is my opinion that realistically prices are down 10%. Different areas of the county are having different adjustments.
