Smoke Detectors can give you a false sense of security Ionization type or "the cheap alternative - photoelectric". So many people have fallen into the trap of just looking at the price of an item and taking the lowest priced item... not always the best as in any business quite often you get what you pay for. For the small price difference go with the Ionization type and do yourself a favor. The photoelectric type don't always see the smoke quick enough and when they do you may find that you can't see your way out of the structure. Ionization type … (2 comments)

FHA 203k procedure The chart to the right is very simplified but we will fill it in a bit as we go forward. A home buyer may enter the chart at any point, their landlord may come to them one day and ask if they want to buy the home... but then they would go back to "square one" and contact a lender to see what amount they might qualify. What is the difference in a razed foundation and a raised foundation? Razed means removed versus raised or elevated or possibly to have the weight taken off the foundation so we can remove the old foundation and replace it with a new perimeter foundation. The other day an underwriter was reading the "Guideline" and when she read "razed" in the guideline an "raised" in the contractor's bid she assumed it meant the same thing and told us we couldn't raze the foundation. In either case she would have been wrong. The HUD Guideline allows us to remove a foundation and replace it. … (3 comments)
