Grand Opening of the Lakefront Promenade and Marina in Lake Charles
The City of Lake Charles is 30 days closer to officially unveiling the newest lakefront attraction! I have been blogging about it as the project has been under construction.
Saturday, September 18th Mayor Randy Roach will present the Lakefront Promenade and Bourd du Lac Marina to the City of Lake Charles There are many activities that will take place from 5:30-9pm including carriage rides!
It is going to be a fun landmark event for the City of Lake Charles!

City of Lake Charles Preview of New Lakefront Downtown Development During a recent press conference the City of Lake Charles shared new Lakefront Downtown Development projects . This is a glimpse of what will be constructed in downtown Lake Charles in the near future. Contractors will now begin to submit bids. The Promenade is scheduled to be completed in August and is looking good! The rest of the Lakefront improvements will be in 3 phases- the Bord du Lac Park Maintenance Building will be Phase I with a completion date of June 2011. Lake Charles Louisiana Does It Again! Salute to the Patriots in Style Earlier this week I announced the City of Lake Charles Annual Red White Blue and You 4th of July event. I must admit, next to Christmas, 4th of July is my favorite holiday to celebrate and I have been wearing red, white and blue for a week in anticipation! It was a HOT one and the rain clouds passed through Lake Charles earlier in the day leaving clear skies for the Community Concert and Fireworks!

I have great childhood memories of growing up in Greenville, Mississippi and going to the levee every summer on 4th of July to watch the fireworks. That was back when ordinances did not allow any fireworks inside the City limits. We would bring our own colorful sparklers with us and light them along the levee. That was such a thrill as a kid and I looked forward to those sparklers all year long, 4th of July was just (4 comments)

Lakefront Promenade in Lake Charles, Louisiana The Lake Charles Civic Center has been a focal point of Lake Charles, Louisiana for years. Every major event is held here including concerts, sporting events, theater events, symphony, exhibits, fun runs/walks, Mardi Gras Balls, weddings and more. The grounds of the Lake Charles Civic Center is the HUB for Contraband Days. The Lake Charles Civic Center has undergone interior improvements. As Lake Charles continues to grow, so does the need for improvements to enhance and improve what our City has to offer residents.
