Westmoreland Athletic Complex Cornelius, NC has finally broke ground and should be ready for play by next year. The Town of Cornelius, as well as, the Lake Norman region has been waiting some time now for this project to begin. Here is a recent article from the Charlotte Observer that explains why Cornelius is excited about the new complex: Construction began in Feburary for the Westmoreland Athletic Complex. The 19-acre facility is being built in western Cornelius near the intersection of W. Catawba Avenue and Westmoreland Road.
