colorado mountain real estate: Colorado Mountain Real Estate- it’s quiet here, but never boring - 01/10/18 03:46 PM
Listing, showing and selling mountain properties allows for many wildlife sightings and viewing scenery that, at times, will take your breath away.  In early December, I was driving back from a new listing on Singing Pines and saw a huge elk herd.  I have never seen so many elk up here, in one place- so that was very exciting, ... and the view from that new listing on Singing Pines will take your breath away
The other day, I was installing a sign and putting the lockbox on another new listing in Crystal Lakes.  The sellers told me where the key was … (14 comments)

colorado mountain real estate: What to do with a crappy real estate offer? (get the wet-wipes) - 03/08/17 11:00 AM
From time to time, I read blog posts/rants complaining about agents who write “crappy” offers.  While I make every effort to write good offers, I'll admit, this one was pretty bad.
The buyers and I had driven all over Glacier View, we even wrote a few offers that had been rejected,   and finally they found the cabin they wanted to buy!  They were here from out of state and camping at the KOA about 20 miles away, so we agreed to meet at the KOA to sign the papers.

colorado mountain real estate: Red Feather Lakes Real Estate and the Lot with the Sparkly Rocks - 05/25/10 05:47 AM
Sunday, I needed to  take some more photos of 2 lots I have listed to replace the wintery snowy photos from April.   I also wanted to put a sign on a 3rd lot.
Our grandson, who is 7 and our granddaughter 5, came along with me.
The first lot was exciting, we hiked around, and they had a lot of fun exploring the different rock outcroppings and trails.
The second lot was about 20-25 miles away, several times, they wondered "When will we be there" and "Are we there yet, Grandma?"
When we arrived, my granddaughter exclaimed "Why did you bring us … (38 comments)

colorado mountain real estate: What's left? : All the Good! - 04/10/09 05:45 PM
A man came in the office today.
I asked him, “How are you doing today?”
He replied,
“I’m doing all right, as long as I don’t count everything”!

Isn’t that a great answer? ! ?

When we don’t count the things that aren’t great,
What’s left??

All the good.

colorado mountain real estate: I fell in love while showing property - 03/07/09 09:41 AM
Yesterday, I was showing homes in the Village of Red Feather Lakes. The Village is an area I continue to  explore; it can be confusing if you are not familiar with all the intricate details…the winding little dirt roads, the signs on the trees, knowing which roads have been plowed…or not.
One cabin we visited still had a skeleton key door knob!  (I haven’t seen a skeleton key since 1976!)  This house had sinks, with faucets – but no water. I don’t mean the water was turned off….I mean this cabin has no water. Some Rustic Cabins in Red Feather have no … (52 comments)

colorado mountain real estate: You'll know them by their limping - 03/05/09 01:38 AM
May those whoLove us, love us.
And those thatDon't love usMay God turnTheir hearts;
And if he doesn'tTurn their heartsMay he turn Their ankles.
So we'll know themBy their limping.

This old Irish poem reminds me that sometimes it’s difficult to know who to trust.  Sometimes people try to act one way, but they really are not who they pretend to be. Pay attention, because “we are all actors in a play”.
Some people are not good actors. You will know them for who they really are – right away. These are the people I like. They don’t make … (32 comments)

colorado mountain real estate: Death of a Newspaper: Goodbye Rocky Mountain News - 03/01/09 05:54 AM
When we lived in the City, we taught our dog, Jesse to go out in morning and fetch the Newspaper.
What a great dog to do this for us! She would happily go out in the snow and the rain – weather conditions not suitable for slippers and pajamas! If the paper was buried under the snow, she would sniff it out and unbury it!
One Sunday, my mother-in-law was staying with us and gave Jesse a treat for getting the paper. Jess thought that was really great, so she proceeded to go to all seven houses in our cul-de-sac and … (32 comments)

colorado mountain real estate: My "Sight Unseen Buyers" saw it today!! - 01/31/09 03:41 PM
I had a lot listing.
On January 24th, I posted my lot to Craig’s list, OOdle, Zillow, Trulia. ActiveRain localism -  every website I could think of, to reach as many buyers as possible.
Not 4 hours after the lot was posted, I got a call!
I called the gentlemen back, as fast as I could!
He had several questions about this lot.
How level is it ?
does it have trees?
where is it located?
how close are the neighbors?……..I knew all of the answers!
(I love it when a buyer calls on my listing!)
In order to “reserve’ the … (26 comments)
