the colony: Bow Wow Pow Wow at Bill Allen Park in The Colony, TX. - 10/04/08 12:05 PM
There was an impressive turnout for the Bow Wow Pow Wow at Bill Allen Park in The Colony, TX.  Many people enjoyed the opportunity to spend time with other dog lovers and get to know local vendors in our community.  I am one of the volunteers raising money for a dog park.  The city has approved the construction but our non-profit organization will provide funds for maintenance.  I am not asking YOU for money.  I only ask you to view my video/slide show to raise awareness of the project.  Furthermore, if you have tips or suggestions regarding how to provide a safe and dog … (15 comments)

the colony: "I say my corns are burning, I think it's gonna rain." - 04/27/08 04:03 AM
There are many benefits to having older friends.  They know more about history because they lived it.  They offer sound advice because they have ‘been there, done that'.  All of my faults do not seem to be a big deal to them.  Yes, many of my friends are a little older than I am.  Not by my own device.  It just happens.
I had a chat with one of my older friends a few days ago.  We were discussing the weather.  She recently became the owner of a chicken.  Yes, that is right.  It showed up in her yard one day and … (26 comments)

the colony: Did you make it a point to stop and lock the door? - 04/15/08 12:09 AM
Recently one of the agents in my office 'almost' got into some trouble.  She was driving buyers to listings in a community.  She noticed another agent was looking at the same homes with other buyers because they kept running into each-other.  Well, on the last home she was in the agent was walking up the sidewalk while she was walking out.  The other agent said, "Don't worry about it.  I will lock up."  The agent from my office said, "Sorry, I really cannot do that.  I have to lock it up myself."  Something happened and it became an issue a couple of … (9 comments)

My 8th grade daughter called me from school last Tuesday.  She said she wanted to walk home with her friend.  I said no you need to ride the bus.  I will be home soon after you arrive and you have game practice.  She started texting me about how her friend has been threatened of getting beaten up on her walk home that day.  I said the obvious, "Tell a staff member."  She replied, "You don't get it.  They don't care.  The girl that wants to beat her up is going to wait until she is off campus so the school cannot … (13 comments)

the colony: Tax Time- Who moved my cheese? - 04/09/08 01:26 AM
It is tax time again.  As I went over the numbers from last year it prompted me to look at my goals as well.  Though I came close to meeting most of them and exceeded in some areas, this years goals are sadly not on target.  The market changed but my way of doing business hasn't.  I am making a commitment to read 'Who Moved My Cheese' once again.  If you haven't read it you can probably find a copy at your local resale book store.
If any of my AR friends have another good, short read suggestions let me know.  I have … (6 comments)
