Escrow challenges, negative media about the market, appraisal problems, etc. To stay sane and renew my energy, I like to mix it up and get my clients together for some fun. I love living in the LA/South Bay & being so close to LA for all it offers, like the weather, the beach, great restaurants, people & theater! Jim & I ventured out of the South Bay to downtown LA last Saturday night to see a play called FABRIC. It is based on a true story of Thai human-trafficking incident in 1995 in El Monte, CA, where law enforcement officials found 72 Thai nationals confined in an apartment complex ringed with barbed wire. It was an exciting day hanging out with LA's Coldwell Banker agents and managers at the Skirball Center! We had some wonderful speakers: Jim Gillespie (CEO), Michael Fischer (Senior VP of Marketing), David Siroty (Senior Directory of Public Relations) and Heather Roberts (Media Relations). I don't abandon my clients once escrow closes. As part of my ongoing Client Appreciation Program, I host buyer Housewarming Parties, and celebrate making it through escrow! So today I am excited to host a Housewarming Party for a recent homebuyer in Torrance. My caterer, Adam, will be there on-site to whip up delish delights! I am currently in Sacramento with the some of the finest Realtors for "Legislative Day". This is where Realtors representing all regions of California through the California Association of Realtors (CAR) migrate to the State Capitol to lobby real estate issues to our legislators. For example, one hot topic this year is "Point of Sale". If passed, this would require home sellers to have an inspection to bring their home up to green standards. I don't know why, this topic gets under my skin. (I know, you're still waiting for the 2nd part of Mysteries of Marketing...don't worry, it's coming!!) When you are selecting an agent to help with one of the biggest financial decisions to sell, buy, or invest in real estate, what is your criteria?
