The First-Time Homebuyer Tax Credit, made available through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, is coming close to expiring. In order to take advantage of the $8,000 tax credit, you must close on a house on or before November 30, 2009. This tax credit is available to "first time home buyers" (anyone who has not owned a home over the past 3 years). There are a few other stipulations to receiving this credit.
