Northern Nevada used to be the underdog in people's mind, even though the Capital city of Carson City is located here. Reno, NV used to be primarily known for its second class casinos compared to Las Vegas.
However times are changing, and just since I moved to Reno in 2006, Northern Nevada has changed dramatically. While the recent recession hit everyone hard, it also provided great opportunities to investors, individuals with available savings, and companies interested in relocating. housing: Land for Multifamily and Housing Gobbled Up in Nevada - 04/06/16 12:45 PM
As I drove around in the region with clients, I noticed that there are less and less available land within city limits for multifamily and single family developments. Lands bought are quickly launching the process as if the planning have been done long before acquiring the land.
This is what happened with this land I posted about just a few weeks earlier. Escrow will be closing shortly and planning and parceling should start as early as September.

With rapidly improving economic environment, the Northern Nevada real estate market is hot.
Developers, who years ago halted construction, are now back and building again, unable to keep up with demand.
Demand is equally high for buying and renting single-family homes and condominiums.
With such a high demand, not only property values, but also rental rates are rising.
More housing needed.
Just recently, I visited a close to 400 Acre available land, high above the valley to the east. The location is lovely, with great view, varied elevations, and close proximity to shopping and Downtown Reno:
