To fund stormwater, water quality, watershed, and floodplain programs, the City of Newark proposed 2010 budget recommends adopting a stormwater utility fee. So in an effort to build my client base, I contacted all the Realtors in my office with a listing. I suggested that I do an open house. Of the 20ish Realtors who had listings, I got responses from two. One wanted me to pay for all advertising, give a 25% referral fee for any buyer that walked in the door, and give 25% referral fee if that buyer ever bought a home.
