Attention Newark residents, be prepared for a sewer rate increase.  Newark is struggling to meet it's budget and is finding ways to come closer to meeting the demands. With a waste water tax going into effect and a notice of increased electric rates scheduled for next year, I shutter to think of what will be next.
The following article appeared in a 11/12/09 Newark Post News Alerts:

The City Council voted to approve the first reading of a proposal that will raise sewer rates by 25 percent and will go into effect February 1, 2010. A second reading of the proposal is … (0 comments)

real estate: Old School Open House - Beating the Odds? - 10/25/09 10:18 AM
So in an effort to build my client base, I contacted all the Realtors in my office with a listing.  I suggested that I do an open house.  Of the 20ish Realtors who had listings, I got responses from two.  One wanted me to pay for all advertising, give a 25% referral fee for any buyer that walked in the door, and give 25% referral fee if that buyer ever bought a home.  I thought it was all stacked against me.
The second Realtor who contacted me about my offer, said she would pay for the advertising and any buyers would … (7 comments)

real estate: Loosing Big Bucks with Heat Gain? Find Answers - 04/27/09 11:43 PM

During the warm and hot months of the year:
Your attic is a major source of heat gain for your home.  All the black tar or dark shingles absorb the heat from the sun and that transfers into your attic.  In some homes … (0 comments)
