It’s December 26. Maybe there’s still a present left for you to unwrap. Some homemade cookies or baked goodies to open and check out the selection. The tree still aglow with lights.
In the family of my origin, Christmas was over on December 26. Ornaments and decorations were neatly packed away. And if the tree was artificial it would be banished to the storage area of the garage. Christine A Movie Review I admit that when I saw the announcement that Christine was opening at one of the theaters in Pasadena, I thought, for a minute, it was another movie. You know the one based on the Stephen King novel from the 1980s. I blame it on Halloween even though I saw this film on November 1. But it’s not that movie. I really did know better since I had read some background material about Christine from this year's Sundance Film Festival along with a story about the subject. No, this is not a case of mistaken identity. At least not on my part. While others were anticipating the premiere of two superheroes on the screen together or another Greek wedding, I chose to see Hello, My Name is Doris.
A new movie starring Sally Field.
A dramedy some might say. Funny in parts. Rather sad in others. But not sad in a weepy kinda way. And definitely not funny in a laugh out loud way either. Rather quiet. Some might say thoughtful.
