The Governor of the State of Nevada has proclaimed May 21, 2011 "Maclean Observatory Day". Thanks to the generous donation by the Macleans, University of Nevada and Sierra Nevada College in Incline Village Nevada will now have access to the Celestron Telescope which tracks the stars and planets. Talk about awesome views! Lake Tahoe has been a wonderful home for such a treasure, and amazing people have shared this gem! Astronomy and astrophysics programs will become more available to students, professors and researchers to provide a significant community resource.
