In doing this I have decided to write a number of blogs about relocation to Elk Point, South Dakota and the surrounding area. I can hear you thinking!! Elk Point, South Dakota, what's there? Well! The city of Hinton is located in the valley of the Floyd River in Plymouth County. This area of Iowa consists of rolling hills broken by small streams and rivers. In 1856, the first settlers moved into Plymouth County and in 1858 formally organized the County as a government unit.

Kingsley Iowa is located 30 minute drive from Sioux City and LeMars. Kingsley is located in Plymouth County in western Iowa. For information on Plymouth County Iowa; Click here. A popular place to eat is Shannon's On the Green, which is located on the Brookfield Golf course. Kingsley also offers a community center and a public pool. There are medical facilities, banks and a county branch library. This is a great community for families with safe streets and a good school system.

schools: Getting to know the neighborhood in Lawton, Iowa.

Lawton, Iowa is located 7 miles east of Sioux City on Hwy 20. It is a nice quiet bedroom community located in Woodbury County. There is very little crime of any kind. Lawton is a good place to raise kids and has great schools. Lawton host a street dance every summer and there is a "fireman's" breakfast held in September. During Homecoming the kids from the school have a parade which winds through the town. In 2007 the Lawton-Bronson football team made it to State finals for the first time in school history.
