Los Angeles Home Staging - An Altadena Home Staging Video - Officially my first Flip Home Staging Video!
This is a video of a home we staged last week in Altadena, CA. I've had my Flip camera for a while (I accosted many of you with it at the RESA International Home Staging Conference in Las Vegas at the end of January :o)
This is a quickie video. I'm still learning about all the ins and outs of the Flip and the editing process.

We staged this beautiful occupied Altadena home on Tuesday of last week. When I met with the Realtor and homeowner on Thursday afternoon, I was told that they already had an offer coming in after the first open house!
The homeowner was using the livingroom as the master bedroom. I won't show before photos of that room because it was heaped with everything they were pre-packing. Here's an after photo of the livingroom after staging:

I got a Los Angeles home staging job today, and it was one of the easiest jobs I have ever gotten. I did not know the agent - I had never worked with her or met her before. She got my name from another Realtor in her office who receives my email newsletter. As I wrote in an earlier post Home Staging A Condo For A Los Angeles Real Estate Auction Company , Moving Mountains Design staged 2 Los Angeles condos last week for a real estate auction company.
Both condo developments we staged the models for are new construction and are vacant. The auction company had rented a few pieces of furniture on their own, but didn't feel that the small amount of furniture made the model home units more appealing. A couple of weeks ago, I was contacted by a very upset Pasadena builder. It seems the home staging company they had hired earlier, had sent them an email that they would not be able to stage the builder's model the following week. She asked if I would be able to stage a model home in time for the scheduled open house and do it within their budget. Of course I said yes!

A few weeks ago we staged this lovely Altadena Spanish Revival home. Altadena is an unincorporated city located in Los Angeles County. The home had been on the market for more than 2 months with no offers before staging.
I'm happy to report that this Altadena home is now in escrow less that 3 weeks after staging (there was an earlier offer that fell out), with multiple offers!

We were hired to stage the home, but it wasn't your typical Los Angeles home staging...Staging Intervention (or Stagervention as my friend Laurie March likes to call it) was more like it. Add one Los Angeles home stager plus a fantastic 1928 Altadena Spanish Colonial Revival in (with an entry courtyard), the homeowners furniture, plus a few rented pieces of furniture, a Persian rug and some staging accessories et voila!
An interesting note about this lovely cottage: It was built and designed by Anna P Latham, one of the first women to be licensed as a building contractor in California. In 1928!
